This year, we can not go Ohanami, which is the drinking Sake under the cherry blossoms with friends by COVID-19. This is the memory of I and my friends went cruise for watching cherry blossom in Tokyo a few years ago.
On that day, it was calm weather, no wind and no waves, also no other boat that is important for the river cruise in Tokyo.

The boat, Gajumaru, is not good at waves from other big boats.
Whereas she is so good for passing low bridges on the rivers and canals in Tokyo.
今年はお花見ができなそうなので、過去の浮かれポンチの私たち。
この日は風もなく波もなく何もなく、他の船の引き波もなく、穏やかな水面でした。
There might be Sendaibori-river and Onagi-river where are lots of low bridge on the river, plus the tide is between 1m, the neap tide, and 2m, the spring tide.
( I haven’t remembered where we went exactly. It might be different river..(?))
仙台堀川と小名木川かな？この辺りは低い橋が続く場所です。
The key of Tokyo river and canal cruise is must check the tide and the time. And I don’t recommend to go to Sumida river where lots of Japanse houseboats if your boat is small. The Japanese houseboat or some big boats make waves and waves is not natural waves so I can not avoid rocking…
I prefered to go to small canals and river in Tokyo with Gajumaru. And when I jumped on a bigger boat, I would go to Sumida river.
I only go to the Sumida river in the morning so that it is calm and no boat that is meaning of no wave. However, sometimes, there are many work barge is driving in the early morning….. Good luck.

引き波の嵐。打たれ強い私でも泣きそうになる。
これは私が思うことだから信憑性はないですが、
直立型の岸って、よくないと思う。
岸をコンクリートで固めちゃうやつ。
引き波が返ってきてまた別の引き波とぶつかって。
全く読めない波ばっかり。
その代表が隅田川。
どうしても隅田川に行きたいなら、早朝がおすすめ。
時間によっては作業船の嵐なので、要注意。

小さいボートは小さいらしく、
大きいボートが行けないところを攻める派。
仙台堀川とか。横十間川とか。
ただし、
橋が低すぎて通れない可能性もあるので、要注意。

The night, it is different scenery from the day time. I recommend you should go to the daytime at first then try to go at night. Because there seem similar and some jetty or so doesn’t have any light.
夜は昼間と雰囲気が変わって、綺麗です。
イキナリ夜に行くより、昼間に一度見ておくのをお勧めします。
