What is dingy?

This page is for the people who are not sailors yet.
On the sailing trip, we normally bring a dingy, on the left-hand side of the image, for going to the land. Near the land is shallow water and the sailboat can not go close to there because of depth. The dingy is put on a small engine, like 3 host power. Another way, we need to swim to go to the land or go to the land by canoe, stand up paddle or don’t go there.
Another meaning of dingy is… a small sailboat without engine and cabin, it is for races, such as international 14.

In the story of the sailing trip, dingy is the meaning of a small boat with an engine. However, some rich people are using a banana boat or a fishing boat as a dingy. I’m not sure what is the biggest size as a dingy.

旅の話を続ける前に、まだヨットにハマっていない人の為にディンギーの説明を。ディンギーとゆう言葉には２種類あって、エンジンのない14フィート前後のヨットと、ゴムボートに小さなエンジンを搭載したのをディンギーと言います。
旅で言うディンギーは後者です。お金持ちのディンギーは普通の小型ボートだったりするので、主のボートに付属する小さなボートが「ディンギー」と思っていれば間違いないと思います。
じゃ前者は？主に1人か2人乗りで主にレースが開催されるものです。説明が下手ですね。下の写真が参考になれば幸いです。
ちなみに、世界共通でヨットマンとの会話でディンギーとゆう話題が出ても、「え？どっちのディンギー？」なんて聞くことはありません。それぐらい、かけ離れた乗り物です。
